Thanks for the lovely comment! I'm not at Langston Hughes anymore, but I hope that the students there will continue to be creative and do wonderful things as they learn.

What a neat project on the water cycle! I teach 4th grade and we do a whole unit on water in science. Your students' project gave me a great idea to use with my students. Thank you!

Hi, the kids used Tech4Learning's Pixie, Twist and Frames software for all the animations on the site. They created their backgrounds, then their characters (which were exported as transparent gif files) and props. They could then drag and drop their characters/props as needed into Twist, export each image that they needed for their digital "flipbook" and continue manipulating and exporting images until they had created enough images to achieve the desired result. The exported files were then imported into Frames, where title cards, transitions, music and audio tracks were added and frame durations were adjusted. The final project was then exported as a Quicktime movie. We archive them on Voicethread and have embedded several of them on our blog. I hope this answers your question, and thanks for taking the time to look at the great work these kids produced.

Your teamwork is awesome! Thank you for sharing the facts about Harriet Tubman in this format. I look forward to sharing this with my second grade students next year. I am also excited about reading your next animation about your experience in creating the video. This will help give me pointers on how to motivate my students who may be interested in creating their own video about their educational explorations. (Second Grade Teacher in Norcross, GA)

Your animation had great facts about Harriet Tubman. And you did a great job making the pictures go along with the story. I work with K-5 graders and can't wait to show them your work to inspire them!
